GEICO Worldwide

Since its foundation in 1999, the Spanish Gynecological Cancer Research Group (GEICO) has demonstrated a strong and sustained commitment to research and the advancement of treatments in gynecologic cancer. Over the years, GEICO has built a path of leadership within the international scientific community and has played a fundamental role in improving patient care.
In 2003, GEICO became a member of the GCIC (Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup), —an international platform that brings together 18 cooperative research groups worldwide committed to advancing gynecologic cancer research.
This collaboration has enabled us to work with renowned research groups and to participate in some of the most important international clinical trials conducted in the field of gynecologic oncology.
At the European level, we have also played a key role through our participation in the European Network of Gynaecological Oncological Trial Groups (ENGOT), —a pan-European network established by the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) to coordinate and promote clinical studies in patients with gynecologic cancer.
This alliance allows us to advance a core part of our mission—research and education—by conducting academic studies, translational research, and multinational clinical trials, while preserving the European spirit and culture and ensuring that every European patient has access to cutting-edge clinical trials.
Under the leadership of Dr. Antonio González-Martín, President of GEICO and Chair of ENGOT from 2018-2020, we remain one of the most active groups and a leading organization in several studies that are shaping the paradigm of gynecologic cancer treatment, such as ENGOT-ov26 (PRIMA), ENGOT-ov41 (ANITA) and ENGOT-cx10 (BEATcc).
