GEICO Registry of Gynecologic Tumors (GEICO 81-T)

What is the GEICO registry? The GEICO Registry is presented as an invaluable tool for collecting clinical information on patients diagnosed with gynecologic cancers in our setting. Since the beginning of this project, we have worked closely with the Platform for Biobanks and Biomodels (formerly the National Biobank Network) to promote the collection of biological samples. In this way, the Registry, together with the biological samples housed in the Biobank of each hospital, promotes the development of translational research projects to advance knowledge of gynecological cancers, thus improving diagnostic and therapeutic options for patients.
Mission The main objective of the GEICO Registry is to promote academic clinical research in gynecologic cancer, serving also as a key tool to facilitate the access of the scientific community to high quality biological samples and clinical and epidemiological information. This allows the development of translational research projects of excellence, with the purpose of increasing knowledge about the molecular basis, epidemiology, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
Structure Dr. Jose Antonio Lopez-Guerrero is the Coordinator of the GEICO Registry. The scientific management is advised by the Executive Committee and the Registry Working Group. Technical coordination is the responsibility of GEICO's operational structure. The GEICO Registry Working Group is made up of:
  • Jose Antonio López Guerrero (IVO)
  • Yolanda García (Parc Taulí)
  • Fernando Gálvez (H U Jaén)
  • Gloria Marquina (H Clínico San Carlos)
